Halo 4 made $220 mil in 24 hours, compared to Black Ops 2 $500 mil. The difference? Halo is sold only on Xbox 360, while Black Ops 2 had the advantage of all platforms including PS3 and PC, both physical and digital. It will even expand to Wii U later this month.

There is another difference in that its easily apparent that Halo 4 is new and innovative, being radically different than Halo Reach or Halo 3, while Black Ops 2 is essentially a mixed bag of Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3, arguably without a whole lot of "new" to speak of. The stagnation did not affect BO2's sales, however Halo's innovation did make its Xbox 360 sales proportionally larger than BO2's.
